2017 Broads-Only Sunday Brunch 11-12:30

Comedy in the Age of Outrage

Let's talk about the limits of humor, what you can make fun or, what you can't, and whether it even matters.

Susan diRende, one-time circus clown, founder of Broad Humor, and now globe-trotting artist and writer, has always had a knack for meaningful laughter. Calling herself a “philosopher clown” she produces both highbrow and lowbrow works in all media. Her scifi farce novella, Unpronounceable, won the 2017 Philip K. Dick Special Citation for Excellence award. Her nonfiction book, American College 101, a handbook for international students, will be published by the University of Georgia Press. A series of 365 daily paintings titled A Year in Miniature has had showings around the US, Europe, and New Zealand. More at susandirende.com.

You can find Susan’s scifi farce, Unpronounceable, here on Amazon.
