Funny Films for All
in the only festival for female-created comedies

The 8th annual Broad Humor Film Festival will open on Friday, September 20 with a special screening of the hilarious satire, Madeleine Olnek's Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same, followed by a talkback with one of the stars of the film, comedienne Jackie Monahan. Saturday is a full day of screenings starting with our own Tamar Halpern's tween feature Legacy screening of Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, based on the popular book of the same title. This film will be followed by a talkback with the young "broad" and rising star, Ryan Simpkins. There are three shorts programs during the day and we round out the day with a screening of Play, a comedy of errors during the opening night of an off-Broadway play written by Kelly McCormack. Sunday continues the laughter with our final shorts program (1pm) and the Broadsides Screenplay Lab where excerpts from finalist screenplays are read for a live audience by a cast of professional actors (3pm).The weekend closes with awards and a celebration at 5pm.
